Passing of Paul “Skip” Becker

I received the following comment request from the wife of “Skip” Becker.

“I have been contacted by a classmate several times who gave this blog address to me. I am Paul “Skip” Becker’s wife. Sadly, I must inform you of his passing last March 29th, 2017. If any of his classmates would more details, please email me at: xxxxxxxxxxx.  Write 58 classmate in the subject line so I know who you are. The email address I had to enter in order to post this is no longer valid.”

Note: For privacy reasons, I blocked out her email address.  If anyone wishes to contact her, please contact me and I’ll gladly provide it.

Another sad posting!

60th Reunion Page Content Updated

I received a revised version of the content material for the 60th Reunion from JoAnn Salin this am.  A correction was made in the “beef” meal entree.

I have replaced the information on the 60th Reunion Page.

News from Ellen Bubeck Laurent

I received the following email from Ellen that I thought I would share with everyone.  Although she did not graduate, since she moved from Madison in 1957, she has followed the class through this website.

“Dear Charles,

Thanks for keeping me on the list.   We did get to go back to Madison for the first time since I left in 1957.  The summer before last, (2016), we went to my husband’s Northwestern University grad school reunion in Oconomowoc (spelling)Wisconsin, so I got to go visit Joan Clifford Indermark and her husband Jerry in their beautiful home in Portage (and travel with them around that interesting area, and eat some wonderful cheese) .  We had a great time!!  We also went to see West High School, and our former home.   Madison has really grown in the 60 years since I left there.

My husband and I will be moving to a continuing care community nearby (Penney Retirement Community)…our duplex will be completed in March, so we are downsizing (with tremendous trauma).   We are looking forward to getting settled there and getting involved in the community.   It’s a very active group of folks, who are full of enthusiasm and very “service oriented”.   We retired 1993, and plunged into volunteer work, so it will only be a shift to other situations.

Hope you are well and thriving there in Plano, TX.

Ellen Bubeck Laurent”
