Message from classmate Tim Fox (Father Matthew)

JoAnn Salin provided me with the following email she received from Tim Fox:

“Jo Ann

How are you doing?  I appreciate all you and Stuart do for our classmates, myself included, keeping us all connected and am sorry I can’t attend the big 60th event this year.  I wish you all well.

BUT I wonder if you would be so kind as to share this beautiful meditation by the Quaker Palmer with our classmates.  The link is at the bottom of the page.  I believe there is a place for something like this on the web page, am I right?  My guess is that many will find it both deep and meaningful and gentle as well, as do I.

Thank you.

Matthew (Tim) Fox

PS A brief update on my doings:

1. I have a new (short!) book coming out this Fall called “Naming the Unnameable: 89 Wonderful and Useful Names for God…Including the Unnameable God.”

2. This July a book I’ve done with two young adults, “Order of the Sacred Earth: An Intergenerational Vision of Love and Action” comes out.  It is an invitation to join a new kind of Order, one that is spiritual and not of any particular religious denomination whose focus is a common vow: “I promise to be the best lover of Earth and the best defender of Earth I can be.”  Jen Listig and Skylar Wilson, the co-authors, are the co-directors of the Order; I’m just an elder.

3. This Fall my book with Lama Tsomo comes out called “The Lotus & the Rose: Conversations on Buddhism and Christian Mysticism.”  It is a transcript of several dialogs we have had over a 7 year period that are available as video pieces as well.

cheers,

Matt (Tim) Fox
